The Power and Responsibility of Using My Voice to Uplift The Black Community

As a speaker, I have been given a gift that allows me to uplift the Black community. This precious talent often feels like both a gift and a curse, as one must be careful to wield words in a way that will not tear down but strengthen the community. As I continue to navigate this journey, I have come to realize the power of collective issues, accountability, and generating momentum to progress. As we take a deep dive into the Black Community, we recognize that each individual is struggling to solve their problems - be it financial, emotional, or circumstantial. While it is important to pay attention to individual struggles, we must make room to address collective issues and problems. By being accountable for our actions and generating awareness, we must encourage one another to take collective responsibility for the progress of the community. Often, we find ourselves coming together after a death or brutal incident that triggers a collective response. While it is valuable to work through those moments together, we must create a space where coming together for collective issues is not just a knee-jerk response but a comprehensive knowledge and understanding of what led us to that very moment. By being aware, knowledgeable, and understanding, we can develop and maintain a movement that is efficient and where fewer lives will be lost. As we strive to progress as a community, let us remember to be empathetic to one another's struggles, know and understand the atrocities that have taken place, and prevent as many lives as possible from being lost. May our coming together be influenced by a collective knowledge and understanding that will result in a progressive momentum that carries all of us forward. In conclusion, I believe that it is my responsibility as a speaker and a member of the Black Community to use my voice in a way that uplifts, inspires, and invokes collective responsibility and collective accountability. By addressing collective issues, we can create a more comprehensive knowledge and understanding of the challenges we face, and in turn, generate momentum that will result in progress. May we all continue to empathize, understand, and work together towards a brighter future for the Black Community.
