Confronting Misplaced Anger: A Journey of Accountability and Healing

Peace Family! ✌🏾✌🏾

It's Choosing Season, and today we're choosing to confront some hard truths. Let's talk about misplaced anger and the journey towards real accountability and healing.

In the face of injustice, it's easy to let anger consume us, to lash out indiscriminately. Today, I'm taking a hard look at my own actions and owning up to my mistakes.

When my civil rights were violated, it didn't just make me feel less human—it made me act less human. The false accusations against me by Deputy Ryan Greb left deep scars, but my response to that pain was my responsibility alone.

I realize now that I had a lot of misplaced anger. In my hurt and frustration, I turned my back on 'Brown' people, pushing them to the side as if they were my enemies. This was a grave error on my part.

The truth is, I've had numerous positive relationships with 'Brown' individuals throughout my life. These were people I could have—and should have—turned to for support and understanding. Instead, I let my pain cloud my judgment and push away potential allies.

In doing so, I committed a crime against the very cause I fight for. I allowed the injustice done to me to make me unjust towards others. This realization is hard to swallow, but it's necessary for growth and true accountability.

To the 'Brown' community: I apologize. My actions were wrong, and they went against everything I stand for. Your support and friendship have been invaluable, and I failed to honor that in my moment of anger.

This experience has taught me a crucial lesson: Even in our darkest moments, we must strive to maintain our humanity. We must not let the injustices we face turn us into the very thing we're fighting against.

Moving forward, I commit to channeling my anger into positive action. I will work harder to build bridges, not burn them. I will seek understanding and unity, even when it's difficult.

Remember, it's choosing season. Today, I choose accountability. I choose growth. I choose to be better than the system that tried to break me.

Will you join me on this journey of healing and unity?

That's that, that's facts, and remember my people, We Didn't Come To Be Defeated. Let's choose accountability, growth, and unity. 💪🏾🌟

Don't Forget To Hold Yourself Accountable. Are you letting your pain turn you against potential allies? Are you channeling your anger into positive change?
